BLOG DAY # 74.SAW A PICTURE-BROUGHT BACK SO MANY MEMORIES OF GROWING UP!

Sometimes all it takes is a picture to bring back so many memories. You begin to have flashbacks to times gone by. Even the skies-brooding in the background. The rides to and fro to grab that mouthwatering snack.

It also brings back the last time you were there and who you didn't quite remember but knew you just had to know that person. But the embarrassment  when it was not who you thought it was. Funny how one little picture posted on face book brings that back!

And then you read the comments and all of a sudden you think- "HEY,I FORGOT ABOUT THAT!".  And then another memory hits you when you took all the kids-hers & mine there to play putt putt golf- back in the days when we were broke and just getting by.

YES , THIS WAS OUR HAMBURGER JOINT! So to speak. It was a treat to us to go here. Not your ordinary burger. You see the hamburg was crumbly-with a roll to die for -just the right amount of buttery glaze on the top with salt! YES-IT WAS GOOD!

A little bit crunchy-but soft at the same time. Always had mine with ketchup & mustard and onions. Makes my mouth water to this day. I believe it started way back in the mid 1900's. I know it had been there a long time when I was young. Everyone knew about and where REDS & TRUDY'S was.

Funny how it comes back with a single picture. The smells-the quaint little restaurant- you could go to the left hand side and place an order. To the left was the old Toll Gate with a PUTT-PUTT little golf course. Yes memories are forever captured in a picture. And it still is there going strong. Still protecting their secret in how they make the burger - still smells the same as the last time I was there.

Going home in a couple weeks- just might have to make a PIT STOP and see if it is the same!
This little gem is located just after you turn left toward Portville coming form Eldred Pa. to New Yourk State. Can't remember the Rte. numbers, guess I am getting old- but young enough to remember when-as I think Alan Jackson sings. Yes, just might have to make it back!

REDS & TRUDY'S LOCATED IN PORTVILLE NEW YORK-TRY IT-YOU'LL LIKE IT!
