BLOG DAY # 96. WE SURVIVED-AND TODAY IS A FRESH NEW DAY!

Last night arrived home, from work about 4:30 pm. Had rained off and on for last 3 hours. Greeted by our guests, the Starks family from Western New York, Steve, Elaine, Josh and Brie , and Josh wife to be Chanaie(sp).

Guess what. TORNADO WARNINGS-TOUCH DOWNS-SIGHTINGS- all around us. We scrambled to secure our two tower gardens, wrapping them up with strips of old sheets, WE HAD MUMMIES ON OUR BACK PATIO! LOL LOL

BUT HERE IS A PICTURE TAKEN NOT FAR AWAY FOR WHAT WE WERE AFRAID MIGHT TOUCH DOWN!

The Stafford tornado makes its presence felt.

WE WERE VERY LUCKY- GLUED TO THE TV SET AND THE LOCAL WEATHER STATION WITH THE UPDATES AND THE WIND AND BAND OF RAINS COMING THROUGH!

Drivers Stranded in High Water

This is how much and how fast the water came up during the down pours in an underpass in DC!

We were safe, the storms moved through the North and East of us. We actually got ready and went out to dinner in Reston about 15 Min's away to Jackson's and had a great time.

Now today we will journey into DC to the new stadium to watch the Nationals take on the Atlanta Braves. WE SURVIVED!

WHILE STORMS CAN BE SCARY-WHAT BETTER WAY TO HUNKER DOWN-IS WHEN YOU ARE WITH FRIENDS!

ANOTHER EXCITING TIME IN THE FITZSIMMONS HOUSEHOLD! I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GOOD DAY!
