Blog Day # 137 in a day of my life. The many facets of Downs Syndrome. Washington DC 2012.

    In our daily lives, we become so busy that we do not take the time to look around us and see the world that we live in. We are busy working, planning, and just struggling to make ends meet. There are food prices to check out- watching the price of gasoline go up and down, and perhaps the most important-FAMILY TIES!

    We are very fortunate in that as a dedicated family, we are there to share life's experiences with each other.   Be it with real close relatives, or those that are far away. This past weekend has brought us all closer together, at least from my prospective. Having spent the last three days at the Downs Syndrome convention in Washington DC. it never ceases to amaze me the parents of special needs children. Dedication-love-tenderness-Patience- caring are but a few of the multitude of words that can be thought of and said here.




BUT , A PICTURE SAYS A THOUSAND WORDS-HOW ABOUT INFINITY OF WORDS!


     CHILDREN OF DOWNS SYNDROME-PRECIOUS LITTLE ANGELS OF THE HEART!


    It has been enjoyable, both meeting the parents and interacting with the children. I have a lot or respect for these parents. They , in some cases more than others, have a heavy load to carry. Yet, there are no complaints-no fussing and just plain love.



    THEY COME FROM ACROSS THE NATION-MANY DIFFERENT WALKS OF LIFE-ALL BONDED TOGETHER-BY A COMMON BOND. CHILDREN!

THE CHILDREN OF THE WORLD ARE OUR FUTURE-LOOK INTO THE MIRROR WITH A CHILD-AND YOU WILL SEE PAST GERATIONS AND FUTURE GENERATIONS TO COME.

I applaud these remarkable parents- and their remarkable children. There are no burdens as far as I can see- just bundles of joy- an innocence beyond belief. THESE ARE THE MANY FACETS OF THE CHILDREN AND PARENTS OF DOWNS SYNDROME.

     Yes, it is an amazing time and place-one only has to stop-look and see. Listen-hear the activities that are going on. Our purpose here is to make a difference in all their lives- and they have made a difference in ours. I would go every year- next one is Denver- we will see. Costs are a factor-but you just never know. This is our second- the first was Orlando-Disneyworld two years ago. memories I will have as long as I live.




      YES WE ARE SUCCESSFUL- WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THEIR LIVES-BUT THE TRADE OFF IS THEY ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN OUR LIVES.

HUG A CHILD-GREAT A PARENT-AND STOP LONG ENOUGH TO ENJOY.
