In the last week, two events come to mind. Entirely different, but my prayers and blessings go out to the two events. Both different, but both dear to my heart. As we progress through life, we are meant with many challenges. We face them in different ways, and in both cases , we look for support from our family, friends and neighbors.
Elaine and Steve Starks-from Portville New York- solid old friends we left behind when we came South. Our families grew up together, and we all remain close. They will visit us once or twice a year, the most recent time, about one month or so ago. We played on league Vollyball teams for years together and went everywhere together during those years. Our families were intertwined and they were our close friends like our other friends from Va. Beach and NC.
THE BLESSINGS AND THE PRAYERS
WE HAVE RECEIVED NEWS THAT SINCE THEY WENT BACK NORTH TO NEW YORK STATE, THAT STEVE HAS PROSTRATE CANCER. THE TEST CAME BACK POSITIVE.
BEING IN HIS MID 50'S, IT WAS A SHOCK TO US AND TO THEM.
JOSH AND BRIE ANNE- THE TWO CHILDREN -SHOCK WAVES FELT.
IT IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND WHEN A LOVED ONE HAS TO GO THROUGH THE NEXT WEEKS OF RADIATION, AND BOTH CHILDREN HAVE REALLY CLOSE TIES TO THE CHURCH. OUR LOVE GOES OUT TO BOTH OF THEM.
SO, WITH THIS BLOG TODAY-STEVE AND ELAINE- KNOW THAT ARE THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS, OUR BLESSINGS THAT ARE IN THE WAY OF THE CHURCH , AND OUR BELIEF IN A HIGHER BEING- ARE WITH YOU. WHEN YOU ARE FRIENDS- IT IS FOREVER. WE WILL CONSTANTLY PRAY THAT THIS WILL PASS AND YOU BEGIN A NEW LIFE TOGETHER. MY FRIEND, FROM THE HEART, BELIEVE, FOR YOU ARE ONE OF HIS CHILDREN, AND HE IS WATCHING OVER YOU.

As it is with life in general, there are many occasions when you say prayers of thanks and prayers of gratitude. Happiness and hope, loving and kindness. Celebrations of life, and celebrations of the beginning of life together. So this week we were informed of a new beginng. A new chapter in the life of two very beautiful people together.
Adam and Katie.Katie Brown, my little friend, whom I carried a many time through the hot sands of the beaches in New Jersey, has gotten engaged! As she was growing up and to this day, I often joke with her as being her only friend. NOW I AM EXTREMELY HAPPY THAT SHE NOW HAS A LIFETIME FRIEND IN ADAM.
THE PRAYERS AND THE BLESSINGS
AS WE GO THROUGH LIFE, WE SEARCH FOR THAT LIFE PARTNER-ONE WHO
YOU LOVE AS A LOVER AND AS A FRIEND. WE SAY OUR PRAYERS FROM THIS TIME FORWARD THAT YOU BE BLESSED WITH BOTH. WE PRAY FOR YOUR FUTURE AS ONE, AND THAT YOU REAP THE BENEFIT'S OF THIS UNION.
TO LITTLE KATIE-ALL GROWN UP-GOD BLESS YOU AND THE PERSON YOU HAVE CHOOSEN, (ADAM), AS YOUR FRIEND AND LOVER, WE WILL REMAIN FRIENDS FOR AS LONG AS I LIVE, BE IT KNOWN, I CAN NOT BE YOUR BRIDESMAID NOR WEAR HIGH HEELS, (A LITTLE JOKE BETWEEN US) BUT I WILL BE THER WATCHING AND PRAYING FOR YOU BOTH.

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT, TWO VERY DIFFERENT PRAYERS AND BLESSINGS. BOTH EXTREMELY IMPORTANT AND BOTH VERY DEAR TO MY HEART. WE USE PRAYER IN DIFFERENT WAYS, BUT ALWAYS TO BENEFIT THOSE WE PRAY FOR.

I PRAY TO YOU OH LORD, BLESS MY MOTHER- AS YOU HAVE FOR 97 YEARS.
HOLD HER CLOSE TO YOU AS HER TIME TO BE WITH YOU COMES-I PRAY THAT YOU ACCEPT HER INTO YOUR REALM , AND GIVE HER PEACE. SHE STILL IS ONE TOUGH OLD BIRD- AND THE REAL BOSS- AT LEAST HER IN THIS WORLD! LOL
