All through my early life, ( A LONG TIME AGO!) I had heard the saying's YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT and A APPLE A DAY WILL KEEP THE DOCTOR AWAY! I really never paid much mind to them, I liked apples, always going to the neighborhood apple trees to grab a sweet and juicy yellow apple or the tart ones- one bite-pucker up and throw it away! LOL
I always loved veggies- but they always were cooked. We never thought about how you loose all the nutrients when you cook them. I remember bean and ham soup. Friday nights were meatless as we were Catholics.
Sundays were always roast beef , mashed potato's, gravy, boiled onions, some veggie and pie for desert. We always drank milk- no pop or soda. A typical family- peanut butter sandwiches, hardly any snacks, and no fast food. So where did I go wrong? By age 50 I was on cholesterol med. High blood pressure meds. and acid reflux meds. !

I GOT CAUGHT UP IN WHAT HAS BECOME THE FAST FOOD DIET! I WAS HOOKED-PIZZA-MCDONALDS-WENDYS-BURGER KING- YOU NAME IT- I WAS THERE! I STARTED DRINKING SODA(POP), SWEET DRINKS- SUGAR IN MY TEA OR COFFEE.
YOU SEE, I HAD BECOME A FOOD ADDICT! NOT ON PURPOSE- BUT BECAUSE IT TASTED REAL GOOD AND SMELLED EVEN BETTER.

MY KITCHEN WAS WHAT WAS FAST , CHEAP AND TASTED GOOD! AND IT WAS SHOWING, EVEN THOUGH I WAS ACTIVE, PLAYING BASKETBALL, SOFTBALL, GOLFING, ANY SPORT THAT THERE WAS I WAS INVOLVED. BUT I WAS PUTTING ON THE POUNDS! I DID NOT KNOW WHY? I THOUGHT I ATE GOOD. YEAH, I ATE GOOD TASTING THINGS. I WAS HOOKED!

LOOK AT THIS PICTURE- THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT WAS HAPPENING TO ME! I LOVED QUARTER POUNDERS, USUALLY TWO OF THEM UNTIL THEY CAME OUT WITH THE DOUBLE QUARTER POUNDER!
I DID NOT KNOW- NO ONE IN OUR AREA KNEW!
WELL, AT LEAST NO ONE I KNEW DID. WE ALL WERE THAT WAY, NEVER EVEN GAVE IT A THOUGHT!

IT TOOK ME UNTIL I WAS 56 YEARS OLD- MANY DIETS- TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT-GOING TO THE DOCTOR EVERY SIX MONTHS-PRESCRIPTIONS BECOMING STRONGER-INCHING TOWARD DIABETES, THINKING I WAS DOING THE RIGHT THINGS IN MY LIFE. I WAS SLOWLY GETTING WORSE, AND NOT EVEN REALIZING IT!

THE STUDY WAS DONE OVER THREE YEARS AGO IN ENGLAND. I DO NOT DRINK SODA-WATER IS MY CHOICE- TAKE YOUR BODY WEIGHT-DIVIDE BY TWO-THAT NUMBER IS THE NUMBER OF OUNCES OF WATER YOU MUST DRINK EVERY DAY, AND THAT IS A MINIMUM NUMBER!

WE ALL GROUP TOGETHER- WE TEND TO PULL TOGETHER-WE JUST NEED TO FOCUS ON WHAT BRINGS US TOGETHER-THE KEY WORD IS HEALTH-WITH OUT IT-WELL YOU JUST DO NOT LIVE WELL! NUTRIENTS-GOD GAVE US NUTRIENTS-ALL NATURAL-NOT MAN MADE-HOW CAN YOU DUPLICATE WHAT NATURE GAVE US AND PUT IT INTO A PILL? BACTERIA WILL NOT EAT A VITAMIN! WHY SHOULD YOU?
THE NATURAL WAY IS TO EAT THOSE FRUITS AND VEGGIES- ALL 9 TO 13 SERVINGS A DAY! THAT IS A LOT- BUT ARE YOU WORTH IT? OF COURSE YOU ARE-YOU WANT TO LIVE-YOU DO NOT WANT CANCER, HEART DISEASE, DIABETES, OVER WEIGHT-STROKES- ALL THOSE ILLNESS'S!

AS I GET OLDER, I GET WISER, OR SO I THINK- BUT I HAVE LEARNED A LOT- I DID NOT TAKE CLASSES, I SIMPLY READ, LISTENED AND ABSORBED WHAT I HEARD AND SAW! THAT WAS IT.

OUR ANSWER WAS TO GO NATURAL-ORGANIC WHENEVER POSSIBLE-FRESH FARMERS MARKETS-ORGANIC SECTION OF THE STORES-CUT OUT THE SWEETS-BREADS-MILK-DAIRY-REDUCE THE RED MEATS-AND FINALLY OTHER MEATS INCLUDING FISH. BUT , AND I SAY BUT, IT WAS NOT ENOUGH. BECAUSE TEMPTATION IS THERE. I CAN NOT EAT 9 TO 13 SERVINGS EVERY DAY, LOGISTICS WON'T ALLOW ME. WE LIVE IN A FAST PACED WORLD. I HAD TO SUPPLEMENT MY INTAKE WITH SOMETHING THAT GIVES ME THOSE NUTRIENTS.

I TAKE TWO OF EACH EVERY DAY- 17 FRUITS AND VEGGIES AND TWO GRAINS FOR FIBER. AND THE BEST THING- IT IS NATURAL AND FULL OF NUTRIENTS! I AM NOW BECOMING WHAT I EAT! 6 1/2 YEARS! MY ONLY REGRET IS THAT I DID NOT FIND THIS WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT 20 YEARS AGO! I AM 63 YEARS OLD.
