Every four months or so-we attempt to get together with our friends Buck & Cindy McBride fro Wilmington N.C. and Jim & Dorothy Brown from Va. Beach Va. We take turns going to each others house for a long weekend. This weekend was suppose to be in Va. Beach-but because we got mixed up with Sherry running the 10 mile Cherry Blossom race in DC everyone agreed to switch it to our house.
Remember that old song"THANK YOU FOR BEING MY FRIEND!" Well everyone-THANK YOU!
We do many different things and try to include our kids whenever possible-here we are at Charles town Races & Slots Casino.
A NIGHT OF HORSE BETTING!Well-actually- we only bet for four races-but Buck got to go to the Casino-played some craps-played some poker- and I lost $20.00 at the slots! Par for the course for me!
We all have a great time-and the neat thing is-we have all been friends for over 30 years and doing our little get together every 4 months for the last , oh I don't remember exactly-but Buck & Cindy moved 15 or 16 years ago and we moved 13 years ago and Jim & Dorothy moved 6 or 7 yrs ago. Anyway-it has been a very log time!
Here we are boating on the inter-coastal waterway off the coast of NC. Bucks son-in-law Brandon is driving. Just cruising along with the wind through our hair!

As the excitement increases as we await here arrivals-it is with the up most gratitude that on one hand we can count our closest friends of the last 30 some years. They have stuck by us-they have been there for us-and what more can I say. WE LOVE THEM DEARLY!
So in a little over 24 hours we will once again share a memory-share a weekend of laughs-share a story or two-and be blessed that we have them as friends.
DOWN THE ROAD WE GO-WE NEVER KNOW-WHO WILL LAUGH-WHO WILL SING-WHO THE SMILE A JOKE WILL BRING-BUT BE AS IT IS-A GRAND TIME WILL BE HAD-IF ONLY FOR A SHORT WHILE-BEFORE OUR PATHS CROSS AGAIN!
