Blog Day # 184 in a day in my life. BRAMBLETON-colorful-exciting- our Home community!

     This time of year, it does get a little bit chilly- temps go from high 70's to l;ow 80's and then a cold front comes threw and we are in the 50's!  It started to rain this morning- and never got above 57- so a crisp fall day- splendid colors coming and people out and about.



   YES, WE LIVE IN BRAMBLETON VA. JUST OUTSIDE ASHBURN- BY THE DULLES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AND 40 MIN'S. FROM DOWNTOWN WASHINGTON DC. OUR NATIONS CAPITAL.

      Above are pictures taken in and around Legacy Park. A 15 acre green space left undeveloped right in the middle of our town center. Va. is beautiful in the fall, with just the right mixture of warmth and chill. Last year, we had a total of maybe 4 to 6 inches of snow! But the year before-wow!

   In all the years I lived in NW PA or SW NY- never did I experience so much snow, all at one time. The first was 23 inches in less than 18 hours, and the next was 26 inches in 24 hours. But the grandaddy of all time was 48 inches in less than 40 hours! I thought it would never quit. We couldn't keep up with it.



Items from our farmers market held every Sunday 8 to 1 pm. This but one market in the area. You can go to them 3 or 4 days a week, and the produce is all home grown! Most of it organic.



         THIS WAS TODAY'S MARKET ON A RAINY SUNDAY- OCTOBER 7TH 2012.

THIS IS LOOKING IN ONE DIRECTION-WITH OTHERS OUT OF THE PICTURE. PRICES ARE GOOD- AND YOU CAN BUY CHICKEN-BEEF-LAMB - PORK AS WELL AS BREADS-COOKIES-FRUITS-VEGGIES-FLOWERS-HERBS-WINE-EVEN HOME MADE DOGGIE TREATS!


ONE OF THE MANY ENTRANCES TO BRAMBLETON-FROM NO ONE HERE 10 YEARS AGO- TO 80,000 PEOPLE! THE LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM HAS WON THE VA. STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TWO YEARS IN A ROW AND ARE UNDEFEATED IN 6 GAMES THIS YEAR.



Summer concerts on the common are every other Thursday all summer long-different type of music each time. It is all fenced off and you are ID when you enter- its BOB , but you must stay inside the lawn - fenced in area.



We have two communty pools- and at the end of the season- they have a Doggie Pool day for pet owners- then it is closed down for the winter. Above , you can see the dogs swimming!

We are very happy here- having the grand kids close by- here we walk in front of the town center across the street from Legacy Park- a week ago - they had a camp out night- with hunreds of tents and and fires- it was a over night camp out with a big giant screen and a movie for the families.

Ou HOA is very good- lots of events- Sat. was the fall fest- with streets closed off-vendors and games- a vibrant communtiy.

THERE ARE FIVE VERY SPECIAL REASONS WE STAY HERE AND HOPE TO RETIRE HERE- BUT WHO KNOWS WHAT THE FUTURE WILL BRING. 18 PLUS MONTHS AND WE SHALL DECIDE- UNTIL THEN- WE WILL ENJOY EVERY PRECIOUS MOMENT OF IT. BRAMBLETON VA. AND OUR FIVE REASONS!
