BLOG DAY # 25. Rejoice, for we have been protected for for centuries, by those who gave their lives.

     I found this quote that was posted by my niece. I think it describes, at least how I feel, our great nation.

     Our great country was founded on the FREEDOMS that we as a nation have. It isn't perfect, but then nothing in life is. It's how we play the hand that we are dealt that leads to the outcome.

     Our lives revolve around day to day living. Some have faith and some do not. Some have families and some do not.  Some people work-and some do not. Some people are healthy-some are not. It is not a perfect place to live, but I read and see what the rest of the world is about, and I am thankful I live in this imperfect place.

 

     I BELIEVE IN A HIGHER BEING.  I BELIEVE IN MY FAMILY. I BELIEVE IN MY COUNTRY. YES, I AM A BELIEVER! HOW ABOUT YOU?

     Have you ever wondered what the world would be without LOVE? Look around at what is going on. People are killing over a burned book- would you kill over the BIBLE being burned? IT IS A BOOK! The belief is in your soul. In your head. Not on a piece of paper. So just who is doing the killing and the looting and burning of buildings and tearing down their own society?



     I believe the above quotation explains what I am trying to say. We are all in this together, whether we like it or not. Our place here on Earth is short when compared to the BIG PICTURE. Make the most of it. Have compassion, and thank those who went before us, and those who protect us from harm.

WE ARE WHAT WE ARE-BUT WE CAN TRY TO BE BETTER-IT'S HOW WE PLAY THE HAND!

Blog day # 24 in a day of my life. When Goverment & Giant corporations control the food supply, WHAT DO YOU DO?

     In today's world of farming- the little farmer is silently disappearing. One by one, they are being forced out for many reasons. Think of the big food chains, who is controling them-where is the produce coming from? What are they using Genetically and in the future how is that going to affect your health and the health of the coming generations?  These are questions that are out there, but for the most part, do not think of them on a day by day basis!



     Look at the above- what do you see? Large corporations that control a large part of the public domain. Do you not wonder why? Below is a very real reason why this is happening. How our Goverment is tied to the food industry and the "GIANT" behind this!


     Now take a very close look at all of this. DID YOU KNOW?  The common theme through all of this is MONSANTO!  Perhaps its now time to just GOOGLE this large corporation and see for yourself, just what portion of the major brands that you pruchase daily are involved!



     I urge everyone to be very careful on your food selections.  I also highly recommend that you seek out and rent the DVD  "FOOD INC" by PBS, and watch this docomentary and share with family , friends and neighbors. Blog day # 23 in a day of my life. THE JOURNEY TO HAPPINESS! ONE DAY AT A TIME.

     When one reflects on oneself life- many happy and sad moments return. Each one in its own little corner of your mind. How far back can one remember? I for one vaguely remember things that I am not sure existed- yet they are there in my subconscious, peaking out and then retreating back. Those memories can no longer be verified because those dear ones have departed.



     Live life one day at a time, cherish those memories as your own treasure in your mind. Keep them ever there but softly as a reminder of times gone by. By having faith in your life-and a person to share that faith with, the journey becomes complete with happiness! Your future thus is linked with a loved one, and the present becomes even more fulfilling.



     To sum this up- your memories of long ago events will linger, but it is the present memories that you are creating each day, and if that is with one you hold dear in your heart, then that memory you have now is the most important. Hold on to what you have for the moment- for there will come a time as we age, that even those memories will slip once again into the subconscious mind.

     To lighten things up , I will leave you with this thought. A moment in time is a lifetime when you share that with one that you love-even if it means waiting on the other side of the door! LOL LOL LOL

Blog day # 21 in a day of my life. So, if you eat something that is deemed healthy-what exactly does it do for you?

     How many times growing up , did you hear, "Eat your carrots, they are good for your eyes!". Or an "Apple a day keeps the doctor away!". Did you ever say to yourself, IS THAT TRUE?
     Well, here is a chart on what these great foods do !



     Now, it would be so great to eat each and everyone of these foods, but to be honest, and really look yourself in the mirror, BEETS? And the kicker here is "THEY HAVE TO BE RAW!"
     Cabbage anyone? I love raw cabbage, but a lot of people do not!  All of these foods have to be eaten raw to get the full nutrients out of they-if not, when cooked, they lose the nutritional values and thus do not act towards strengthening the area of the body shown on the chart!

Blog day #21 in a day of my life. How do you measure success? It isn't always what we see!

     As we look around our own environment, we all see different scenes. I guess it is how we all are WIRED in different ways. We measure success in the way we see it. Sort of the old saying one persons junk is another persons treasure. So today, look around, see things for what they are- another persons dreams, and if there dream is not quite there, share with them the thoughts of achievement, for that may be just the catalyst to move them forward.




     Sometimes friends are found in strange relationship's- sometimes this is all you have. We make the most of what we have- the ability to make friends is what sometimes pushes us forward- do not be afraid to extend yourself- let your inner self come forward- sometimes we need that friendship no matter where it comes from.


     I LEAVE YOU WITH THIS THOUGHT. WHAT IF I COULD, BUT I DIDN'T , BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID TO ASK? EXTEND YOURSELF, FOR IF YOU DON'T , THAT DOOR OF OPPORTUNITY WILL CLOSE AND YOU ARE ON THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN! HGD

Blog day # 20 in a day in my life. When age pass's you buy, it takes a cartoon to remind you of those wonderful years of yesterday!

    As we grow older , our children grow up, have children and they start the process all over again. We wonder, where did the time go? Did we do it right? How could we of done it different? Below is a cartoon, and it reminded me of the trials and tribulations that we , as parents , went through.

     The many trips back and forth to the high school, church, stores, and vacations that we saved up for all year to be the best that we could afford to do.

     The moves to another house, leaving behind 5 years of memories and the close neighbors we had as friends. The new neighbor hood and the new friends that we met and continue to see every 3 to 4 months. A friendship that will endure time until we are gone!




     Life brings you to many roads that you must travel, many intersections that require you to decide which way to go. We have been blessed to meet our close friends and share all these memories together as our families intertwined, we shared hope, grief, laughter, a special kind of bond that will always be there. FAMILY AND FRIENDS GO HAND AND HAND!

     Raising our children was stressful at times- but so is life in general!

     It is The meaning of being together that brings this little blog forth.

     You see we have a family- a family of children-cousins-niece's-nephews-grandkids-grandparents-sisters-husbands and wives. We also have a family of friends. A close circle that we cherish day to day. A blessing and a joy. Did we have stress? Yes- but we learned and we passed it on. I would never change the outcome- I would only pray that it continues after we are gone.

So to wrap this little blog up- family-friends & you out there that I know and do not know- when age begins to creep up and you wonder where all the time has gone- just look around you and marvel at what you have- for without you- those you see wouldn't exist-at least in the lives they lead now. For you are an important part of their life & their aging.

We all have choices that we made- just think if you had made one different choic a long time ago- how different those lives would be today! Love-laugh-cry-shout for joy. For you have made a difference- and as life slowly goes by- THANK GOD FOR WHERE & WHAT THOSE CHOICES WERE!

Blog Day # 17 in a day of my life. Tomato's, cuke's ,lettuce, squash , WATERMELLONS , OH MY!

     GOT THE ITCH?   Here are the seed packs that come with the Tower Garden. If you go to www.towergarden.com , you can watch a video on this remarkable growing system.

     When you really believe in a cause, speak out- speak volume's, for it is then that your tiny voice is heard. If you believe in yourself-and your moral judgement, then follow your road in life try as hard as you can, to let the world know your passion.

Find the shoes-where's your jacket-Have we got everything-Marcus already left with the babies-Tammy riding with Debby-Grandma making the rounds-one by one they leave-grandma still making the rounds-last one out the door-AND THERE STANDS GIGI- no one left to say good bye to-fitting-as it is the rason why we celebrated. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BARB-82 years young and without her-there would be no grandkids-no children -no great grandkids-no spouses-not even a figment of your immagination-NO REASON TO CELEBRATE-NO FAMILY!

Blog day # 14 in a day of my life. Little girls make you smile- one day they grow up-and and then you cry-for then you realize life is passing you by!

     When we cherish something for so long- and then we realize it is almost gone- we come to realize life is but a fleeting moment in time- one that comes and goes as the ebbing of the tide. Memories are created for as long as we are able to remember- someday that saddly will also become a moment of the past.


     As we hold close to our hearts , those that we love, we cling on t those moments that are lasting imprints in our mind and sometimes are fortunate enough to capture them in a picture for that is what we might have left as time passe's you by- as the song goes.



     As we gather our thoughts- and know the meaning of life- we bring forth all those memories into what it means as a family to PASS IT ON and share with them the meaning of the fulfillment of life.


     WHEN YOU SHARE YOUR LIFE- WITH THE ONE YOU LOVE-YOU BECOME ONE-AND YOU KNOW NO MATER WHAT-THEY ARE WITH YOU-AND THAT IS THE MEANING OF LOVE AND ONE-AS THEY BOTH ARE INTERTWINED-NO MATER HOW THE MEMORIES FADE.



     The gift of Grand children is the most precious gift of all. Worth more than wealth-health. The memories will be passed down- age will become a source of topics to be discussed, sometimes with laughter, sometimes with tears and other times with gratitude.  This my friends is what aging and life fulfillment's is all about- at least in my mind.



     BY THE GRACE OF GOD-WE WALKED THIS EARTH-AND BY HIS GRACE-IT WAS PASSED ON TO FUTURE GENERATIONS!





    Yes- time passes us by- the world continues to turn-the sun rises and sets each day- and it is comforting to know- we were a force in the life of many to come. Memories are told in words and pictures- but it will be the pictures of the mind that will carry US forward- God Bless- have a great future!

Blog day # 14 in a day of my life. When a little girl of few words- speaks volumes thru her art's!

     "ELLA B" AS WE AFFECTIONATELY CALL HER. My little granddaughter , who at 1 1/2 years old at Christmas time spent a week in the hospital, with what turned out to be Salmonella
from a tiny pet turtle that gad crawled across the floor where she played. Who would know that this could happen. It was scary- we almost lost her.

     "NOW I LAY ME DOWN TO SLEEP"

     Flash forward. Now 8 years old- the silent shell that enveloped her after that terrifying experience for one week at Christmas, has slowly come down. A Soccer star in the making. Determination in her skill set. Entirely focused on the ball and her strength to go the length of the field and score! You see she plays in a co-ed league. Those are boys she's beating down the field!

     "PRAY THE LORD MY SOUL TO KEEP."

     Now she is funny, really funny when she doesn't know you are watching The little smile, the shrug of the shoulder, her dance moves. This is the ELLA B we have come to know and love. Now there is basketball and she can run. Someday I see her running in races. But this week, she really spoke volumes when her ART Work was chosen to be displayed at a art show! I look at this piece and I wonder how did she know how to do abstract art? It really has depth. And lately I have noticed how accurate she is getting , almost like she is tracing the pictures in her mind! I AM AMAZED!

     "A CATIPILLAR CRAWLS- A CACOON HANGS- A BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY EMERGES, TO FLY AND SOAR-BEYOND IMMAGINATION."

     Our little ELLA G, growing before our eyes. Our prayers were answered! Now the butterfly soars. I am so proud of her. YOU GO ELLA B!

Blog # 13 in a day of my life. Faith in our lives-A HIGHER BEING.

     Sometimes you wonder- sometimes you forget-sometimes you just don't know. BUT, WHAT IF? Many times we lose our way only to come back and look skyward or bowed heads with clasped hands , and with all our might ask for help.





     There are times when it seems that the answer comes , not always what we want,  but there it is. We ask ourselves, is it real? We look around and say how can this be if it isn't?The comfort of the human soul is to believe. What would happen if we didn't?

     I for one, believe in a higher being. My life revolves around this concept daily. I know there are those who don't, and I accept that. We are who we are. I do not pity them. I simply pray that they will be okay, and no harm comes to them. What I do not understand- is that those who harm & kill in the NAME of their religion, can say it is the will of (whatever the name they give), and look for the next victum to slaughter.

     Do I forgive them as it calls for in my religion? My answer to that is simple-for I am a simple man-NO! I know that that is maybe wrong- but I just can not look the other way or turn the other check. So each day I ask for my own forgiveness hoping & PRAYING that when it comes my time, That THE HIGHER BEING has compassion and forgives me for my selfish feelings.

     I ask not that you believe as I do, but that you treat all human kind as though they are your own flesh and blood, and search your own mind as to how we got here and to where are we headed. For that my friends, are really all we have in the short time that we are here. PEACE BE WITH YOU! 

Blog day # 12 in a day of my life. THE GREEN THUMBS ARE GETTING ITCHY!

     I have to tell you, we are ready to get this winter over with and get some warm weather and start our growing season. I am planning in my mind exactly how to plant my Tomato's and how many to plant. THE GREEN THUMB IS GETTING ITCHY! Sherry started her seedlings for the TOWER GARDEN. The picture below is exactly how ours looked 3 to 4 weeks after we transplanted the seedlings!



     The HARVEST you see above lasted from mid-July to December 7th when I took it down because I was afraid of the ICE & SNOW! We haven't had any to date. I COULD OF LEFT IT UP! Instead of going to the store ( FARMERS MARKETS CEASED END OF NOVEMBER!), we could of still harvested thru the winter. There is a heater available and now that I know better- we will buy one and grow year round!  Okay weather birds, because I said that- we prob. will get dumped on next year! LOL

     Next week, we will have three wellness presentations. Along with the LIVE LIFE TO THE PLUS + , we will introduce the TOWER GARDEN. I actually will un crate our new one and put it together so everyone can see even TOM can do it!

     Today is Valentines day. What do you remember through the years? How many bumpy roads have you traveled?  The funny things he or she said? When we celebrate this day once a year, many thoughts come bounding back, the memories of joyful times and LOVE!

     As winter gives away to Spring, you hear the talk, love is in the air! Spring fever, flowers begin to come up through the snow. Valentines day , to me anyways, signifies that winter is on its way out and soon the birds are chirping and the first robin hops around your yard looking for food.

     " THE SOUND OF ICE BREAKING UP- LIKE THE CRACK OF A WHIP!"

     You become a little bit closer on Valentines day. That little smile, the faint laugh, the little touches, the secret looks. All because we celebrate the beginning of a new spring to come. Love is in the air.

    "  THE SEA ROILS UP-THE ICE SLIDES DOWN-A THUNDEROUS NOISE HEARD BY NO ONE!"

     Yet it gets closer to spring- laughter comes more easily- the winter blues are starting to be distant memories. Love is in the air. A sweetheart-a card- a lover- a friend. All at the feet of a day called Valentine. You exchange a hug and a kiss. The thaw is starting to come. The warmth is returning.

     " THE ICE BEGINS TO TALK-CRACKING AS IT SPLITS APART-RUMBLING AS IT BREAKS OFF AND FALLS INTO THE SEA. LOVE & SPRING ARE IN THE AIR. A FRESHNESS & A RENEWED SPIRIT OF CLOSENESS.

Blog #'s 8 & 9 in a day of my life. "when the Lion roars and slips away quietly into the night."

    It was '72 I believe. For that was the summer in June of THE FLOOD. I remember seeing him that year as I was on second shift and he was just starting in the Celler Gang. He had a full beard and it was trimmed. But as it was in those days, the little wire-rimmed glasses that identified him for the rest of the years I knew him. Forty years is a long time! You see, we were almost the same age. I think I had him by a couple- we were both products of THE HIPPIE ERA!

     "IN THE JUNGLE............"

     It was '76. We were in the middle of a very cold winter & in the middle of a very difficult , sometimes brutal STRIKE. 13 1/2 weeks to be exact. Started end of Jan. and went forth into spring. We were sitting on the East side of the plant. There were three of us huddled around a 55 gallon drum with a fire in it trying to keep warm. It was the graveyard picket line. Two or Three in the morning. I do not remember who the third person was, but it was Tom. Tom & Tom. He told me about his childhood. Being FAT as he called it. The whole time I knew him he was slim. He said they picked on him. That in my mind today is BULLYING.

     "THE QUIET JUNGLE..........."

     1987 or thereabouts, I was working off site in the ware house down in Olean. He came in. Again just the two of us. He had been promoted several times. He was manufacturing Supernatant. We were discussing a union issue. I was president. He was always funny. It was always a civil talk. He still wore those wire rimmed glasses. The beard was gone, they made him take it off in order to get promoted! To me it was the beard that made him stand out. Now it was the little wire rimmed glasses!

     "THE LION SLEEPS TONIGHT............"

     1994.  We were discussing some issues. He, still Manufacturing/HR and me process facilitator. I had been promoted 4 or 5 years ago. Being of almost the same age, we had a lot in common. He never lost it as I would occasionally. He always would calm me down and we would talk. Man to Man as we had all those years as we sat in the cold, huddled, trying to remain warm. That is why he was so respected. He wasn't like the others. I remember one time he called me up to his office. I had Body Prep and you had to do a monthly inventory on the stain. He wasn't mad. In fact he laughed and said, "Your ------------stain color must of had Puppies because you have more this month then last and we didn't order any in!" It was his way of telling me I had made a mistake and go take care of it!

     "IN THE JUNGLE, THE QUIET JUNGLE............." 

     1999, the year I transferred to NVA. It was just before we left. He and I were on our way to a Fork Truck seminar. He was driving. I believe it took us a hour or so to get where ever it was. Again, as it was those many years ago, we were alone. He said why are you leaving. I told him OUR reasons and he listened. He still wore those trademark wire rimmed glasses! We discussed OUR reasons and he said he understood and wished US well and good luck!

     "IN THE JUNGLE, THE QUIET JUNGLE, THE LION SLEEPS TONIGHT......."

     Summer of 2009. The last time I saw him. I was back to the factory for a visit. I had made it to Body Prep and was talking to another old, old friend. Bob Baer. We were standing in the middle of the floor, where you could see the entrance to the lab, but 30 or so feet from the scales. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Tom coming from the smoke room. He saw us, and just like him , he stopped and made a gesture. It was a funny obscene gesture. All three of us laughed. And of course Bob shouted out an expletive and Tom and his little wire rimmed glasses waved and walked off!

Blog day # 7 in a day of my life. Sharing our life with friends-family & strangers!

     Please bear with me- I tried to bring the video over ,but it didn't follow me! That is the story of my life! LOL Anyway- I shared this on face book so you can see it there. What an inspiration! I get so excited when I watch it and there are many many people in this video we have met and are in contact with all over the country and the world!

     Our QUEST , so to speak, is incredible- we have touched the lives of hundreds of people, but the most precious are the CHILDREN! Can you imagine seeing a child who fights off colds, flu's  etc. without prescriptions and antibiotics or Dr. visits because of us their immune systems are built up to allow them to do that! That my Friends is what the younger generation calls "MONEY"! In my tome it was called "COOL"!  That's what drives me, that is what my wife Sherry introduced to me 6 years ago!

     There is a meaning to life- one in which we all play a part- the part is different for everyone- you know- I LOVE MY PART! I CAN MAKE A CHANGE! A CHANGE I & EVERYONE I MEET CAN BELIEVE IN! I am living my part. Everyday- one step at a time- one life at a time- ONE CHIL AT A TIME! My legacy - which I firmly believe- will be I MADE A CHANGE! How many people do you know- have done that or can claim that? That's my story and I'm sticking to it! I feel great- I LOVE LIFE! HGD

Blog day # 6 in a day of my life. Today is happy returns day!

     Sherry returned last night around 9:15 pm. Happy times in the household again. An empty house is somewhat an empty heart. So today, back to normal-except we got a dusting of snow ( I hate that word) yesterday! Have bee
n using this alone time to read up on Juice Plus's Tower Garden!

     Huge headline. Tower Gardens on display at Chicago O'Hare airport.  Right in the middle are 25 Tower Gardens with with over 1100 plants. The banner there states "THE FUTURE OF FOOD PRODUCTION!" Each day, they harvest and deliver fresh organic fruits & vegetables to the restaurants at the airport.

Next month or sooner, I will have both of our units ( 40 ) plants, up & running. Just step out the door, snip off what we want, and Presto, salads , organic, no pesticide's and FRESH for lunch or dinner or both!

Blog day # 5 in a day of my life. POTATO CHIPS!

 

 

 

 

 

     Today is both a sad day- & a happy day. One of my vices is POTATO CHIPS. BUT- they have to be sea salt- anything salty I like- take the salt away and I won't touch them! I think I have a problem there. Now I have posted the following information and that my friends is my sad day !

 

     Now for my HAPPY DAY! Last night around 5 pm. Door bell rang. I glanced down the hall and could see the UPS truck in the street. He had gone back and was caring a big brown box. No pun intended! LOL So I went to the door and low and behold TWO big brown boxes were there. This was my HAPPY DAY! For you see, The TOWER GARDENS have arrived!

 

     For those that do not know what this is, it is our organic growing , fruits & veggies, no fuss, no mess, no soil, NO PESTICIDE'S,  just air-water- and organic NUTRIENTS growing system. Each system is 2 1/2 feet wide- about 4 feet high, 20 plants and so easy, even I COULD DO IT!

A day in my life blog day # 4. HAPPY DAYS!

     Today will be actually a day in my life. Navigating face book & this Blog site is a challenge in itself
for a person who is not a TECHIE! So please bear with me. But as the old, and I mean old TV show goes, Happy Days, as the FONZ would say, "HHEEEYYY"! I will get this down. Oboy, Sherry is going to Charleston SC for a quick sales training, so my TECH side is gone for next 38 hours! Does that say it all?
